I read the following the other day about aid to Africa:- "Charity is about poor people in rich countries,....giving aid to rich people in poor countries"
This huge amount of money was probably given by the 'not so well off' in this country....let's hope it gets to those that need it.
I still think at the end of the day that even those that are struggling to make ends meet are willing to give up something else to help someone else in need.
Well, I'm turned 70, and we have been giving to Africa for as long as I can remember. If they still have the problems that they obviously DO still have, then there is no point in continuing to give these vast sums of money to them.

True, true and more true. The most generous person I ever met was as poor as a church mouse, but it didn't stop her helping anyone and everyone else.

Dickie,
Don't be disillusioned. At least we get to see where the money goes with the wee documentaries they show each year.
ps Didn't Sainsbury's do well! LOL.
