I love the pictures of stars and space I get with the National Geographic magazine and this one is spectacular.
Like a blue eye, the Helix planetary nebula is a mere 700 light years away out of the constellation Aquarius.
This is a spectacular photo of what is called 'a last gasp' of a sunlike star before it becomes a dwarf. That means it will die out completely.
The white dots around the inside of the star are still a mystery, but in fact, each white 'dot' is in fact as large as our solar system.
But what a fantastic picture of the 'blue eye.'
