Taser guns.

Thames Valley was one of the five forces in the U.K. which were initially involved in a 12 month trial of laser guns.
The initial trial which ended 2004, has now been extended and any force can now apply to the Home office for permission to have Tasers. Thames Vally is continuing to take part in the evaluation of the device.

What is a Taser?
A taser is an electrical weapon which administers an electric current which causes muscle dysfunction, temporarily incapacitating a person.

What does it do to someone?
The effects are instantaneous and only lasts for as long as the charge is applied.

Will beat officers use the taser?
No, the taser will only be used by highly- trained, authorised firearms officers.

I recently read a blog by big fella in blue about the taser gun. Now, not knowing anything about this particular weapon I went on the internet and found a lot of information about the gun.

But I am disappointed that only firearms officers are allowed to use this weapon.

I think that now is the time when ALL police officers should be armed and using the taser gun would be perfect.They would, of course, be trained how to use this weapon.

It would only be used in defence and not for attack.

How many times have you heard of an incident when police officers are chasing someone and they pull out a gun or knife to attack the officers? What have they got to defend themselves?

It's time this country woke up and gave our police a gun that they could use in defence.

Police officers in many other countries have got them, so why not us?

So she's won. Shilpa Shetty is who I am refering to. But I don't think anyone is surprised, do you?

Of course, she let out a scream of surprise when they announced she was the winner, but were you convinced she was surprised? I wasn't.

It was a complete fiasco from the begining, yes Jade can be loud and overbearing but I'm still not convinced that the criticism was racially intended.
Shilpa came across as thinking she was better than anybody else, that alone will cause bad feeling.

Now she is all forgiving to Jade and the others.

I only hope this awful programme is now banished for ever.

Why do we have wednesdays?

I don't know about you but is there one day in the week that you hate?
For me it's got to be wednesdays.

I really don't know why but I just hate wednesdays.
Every week it's the same,I get up and then it dawns on me what day it is:

Wednesday.

Yuk.

It's not that something bad has happened on that particular day. Nothing happens on that day.

It's so boring.
It's not the begining of the week, nor is it the end of the week.

It's a no day, nothing.

If it was possible I would delete wednesdays forever. We would skip from tuesday to thursday.

It doesn't make any sense really does it?

But then wednesday doesn't make any sense either.

Is there a day you don't like?

On October 27th 2004 scientists have found skeletons of humans that grew no larger than a three year old modern child.
They are, according to the scientist , completely new to science. They are named Homo Floresiensis, after the island on which they were found.

One of the skeletons, that of a woman, is believed to be only 1 metre (3.3 feet ) tall weighed about 25 kilograms (55 pounds ) and was around 30 years old. Her skull was the same size as a grapefuit.

These skeletons are 18,000 years old.

They are calling them the Hobbits.

These bones were found in a cave on Flores, an island east of Bali and midway between Asia and Australia.
Also on this island the bones of some animals were found. The komodo dragon, pygmy elephants, giant rodents and lizards that grew up to 10 feet. (3 meters ) tall.

Some of these animals still live today.


The researchers estimate that the tiny people lived on Flores from about 95,000 years until at least 18,000 years ago.

The scientist base their theory on charred bones and tools found on the island. The blades,perforaters, points and other cutting tools were apparently used to hunt big game.

Are men happier?

Men are happier people-what do you expect from such simple creatures?

Reasons for this statement:

Your last name stays the same.

The garage is all yours.

Car mechanics tell you the truth.

You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.

The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected.

You can play with toys all your life.

You can wear a white t-shirt to a water park.

You can wear NO t-shirt to a water park.

Your world is your urinal.

You never have to drive to another petrol station toilet because this one is to icky.

You know stuff about tanks.

You can open all your own jars.

Wedding plans take care of themselves.

You can never be pregnant.

People never stare at your chest when you talk to them.

New shoes don't cut, blister or mangle your feet.

Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.

If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.

The same hairstyle lasts for years,maybe decades.

Everything on your face stays its original colour.

You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.

No wonder men are happier.

Tell this to the woman who can handle it and to the men who will enjoy reading it.

If I could have a magic wand I would wave it high in the air and this is what I would wish for:


1. We would live in a kingdom of blue skies and the sun would shine every day.
2. We would all live in golden palaces.
3. We would never need to go on holiday.
4. We would walk in woods made of big trees made of gold silk and walk on green, green grass.
5. We would meet and have a drink and a laugh.
6. We would listen to music played by violins ( and Michael Jackson)
7. We would never pay poll tax again.
8. We would all be paid a good wage !
9. We would celebrate christmas every year and it will always snow.

Tony Blair's terrorist bill

Why was Tony Blair's terrorism bill defeated?

There are some things in life that do not make a lot of sense.

The defeat of this bill was a disgrace. What were the M.P.'s thinking of............not our security, that's for sure.

The bill allows the police to detain terror suspects for up to 90 days without charge, rather than the existing 14 days.
Now I don't know what was wrong with that but the M.P.s, for some reason, thought that was too long and they have voted to extend the time limit to 28 days.

The bill was defeated in the house of commons.

What I would like to point out is that the M.P.'s who voted against this bill did not take into consideration that we, the people of this country and those that voted THEM in, would have loved that bill to be voted FOR and not AGAINST.

The M.P.'s had let US down badly.

As I said, it is US that vote THEM in and they are there to represent us. They did not do that on that occasion. Everyone I know agreed whole heartedly with that bill.
It was for our national security.

How can you expect the police and armed forces to protect us when they have no support from our own M.P.'s?

Just blogging

I am sat here wondering what to blog about. Thoughts rushing through my head when I thought why don't I blog about blogging.

Good idea I thought to myself, why not?

I have been blogging for about a year now, I don't do many because I have such a boring life there really isn't a lot to talk about! Plus I'm not very intelligent anyway and although I sometimes get good ideas ( I love politics) I can't write it down because I don't know that much about the subject I was going to blog about!


However what I do love doing is reading other peoples blogs.

When reading them you get to know that person very well. You know their likes and dislikes, what makes them happy, sad and what makes them angry.
You sympathise with them and you laugh with them.

But there is something else...you can picture them.

I see every individual as they sit down with their computers blogging away. Concentrating on every word they write.

Thinking back to my school days (many, many years ago) I hated reading. Even now, I can't remember the last time I picked up a book. Yet I am very happy to sit here and read all those bloggs. Funny isn't it?

I really don't know what I would do if for some reason all blogging stopped. I would be at a loss.
What would I do with myself every evening?

Let's hope that day never comes, shall we?
